Cross-Commission Hearing of the Biak Regional House of Representatives Held to Discuss Demolition of Residents’ Houses in Anjareuw Village

Biak, Waironnews.com – Drs. Judi Wanma, M.Si confirmed that the Biak Numfor Regional House of Representatives (DPRK) held a cross-commission Public Hearing (RDP) involving Commissions I, II, and III to address the issue of the demolition of residents’ houses in RT 03/RW 02, Anjareuw Village, Samofa District.

The meeting took place in the main plenary hall of the Biak Numfor DPRK building on Monday (March 16, 2026).

The hearing was attended by the leadership of the Biak Numfor DPRK, including the First, Second, and Third Deputy Chairpersons, along with several council members from the three commissions.

During the meeting, the DPRK also invited relevant parties to provide clarification regarding the situation in Anjareuw Village.

The Biak Numfor Regency Government was represented by the Regional Secretary (Sekda), while the police were represented by the Biak Numfor Police Resort through the Head of Intelligence and Security Unit.

In addition, the company involved was also present, namely Nirmala Beach management, represented by its Operational Director, Sofyan Korwa. 

The meeting was also attended by the Head of Anjareuw Village and residents of RT 03/RW 02 affected by the demolition.

This cross-commission hearing was held to gather explanations from all parties involved and to seek solutions regarding the demolition of three out of four targeted houses, which has sparked public controversy.

During the session, the Biak Numfor DPRK emphasized the importance of resolving the issue through dialogue while taking into account residents’ rights and applicable legal provisions.

Several residents in attendance also expressed their concerns and objections regarding the demolition carried out in the area, while the relevant parties provided explanations on the background and process of the actions taken.

The Biak Numfor DPRK stated that it will follow up on the results of the hearing to find the best solution for all parties and to ensure that the issue is resolved in a fair and transparent manner.
